Job Description

The Field Service Technician for DE Systems fulfills a wide variety of duties in support of the Service department team.

They provide IT technical services ensuring timely, efficient and smooth provision of customer service support.

Main Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Providing support and technical assistance with computer hardware and software (diagnosing, repairing, maintaining) ensuring technology infrastructure is running optimally, efficiently, and securely
  • Monitor and Respond to alerts and incidents via email, phone or ticketing system, communication boards.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot technical issues both in-person and remotely.
  • Implementing software patches and upgrades
  • Perform system health checks, backups, and disaster recovery testing on a regular basis.
Job Requirements

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in IT services, with broad exposure to a variety of software and hardware technologies, or equivalent experience in related field with similar skills set requirments.
  • Certification/proficiency with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Desktop, Server, MS SQL Server editions
  • Proficiency with networking firewalls including Cisco and SonicWall
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, MS365 and SharePoint
  • Knowledge of data backup and recovery procedures, as well as security protocols
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks and Sage accounting software installation
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships and customer satisfaction by delivering quality service and timely communication.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Able to work under deadline pressure and able to multitask, and manage multiple duties for clients and jobs
  • Strong communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Able to learn and adapt to a frequently changing environment
  • Ability to carry out their duties in a professional, respectful, positive and courteous manner, in an environment that can be fast paced
  • Flexibility to work variable schedules (early mornings, evenings, weekends)
  • Have their own vehicle, valid Ontario Driver’s licence and clean driving record for the last 12mths.
  • Be in good physical condition to perform equipment set-up requirements (carry/lift equipment, network cabling, etc.)
  • Completing any tasks assigned by the department manager in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team both in a remotely and in-person office environments.
